Talks During Women's History Month at CityTech

CityTech celebrated Women's History Month in March. I was honored to make two different presentations, which featured my book Staging Migrations. First, I served as the keynote speaker for the Annual Women's History Month Luncheon.  in the Janet Lefler Dining Room on March 20th. Such an amazing group of women. Much of my presentation included memories of Mrs. Dorothy DuBerry, a club woman and comrade with my late grandmother Martha Carter. Mrs. Duberry taught me much about WORTH. When I get a moment, I will post an excerpt from the speech.

For the second event, I offered "Staging Migrations Across Disciplinary Boundaries: Researching Race, Gender & Space" for the 'What Does Freedom Mean? Project Event' on March 23rd in Namm 119. My colleague Dr. Dionne Bennett organized this event for the college. Unfortunately, I did not ask anyone to take pictures or record the event.
